How many people can you fit in a Dodge Caravan?? (July)

On arrival at Canada Place we located our Dodge Caravan and packed everyone in. And I mean packed!!Our congratulations go to Peter and Cheryl who toughed it out in the back seat with Liam!

We made our way back the shortest way to Kamloops and arrived in the mid-afternoon. A short orientation and then out to dinner at the Noble Pig to meet up with Bill and Margaret and their boys. Bill and I shared the quaint house on Duffy St in Ainslie in 1996, and he and his family now live in Seattle. They were on their way home from Banff and it was great to be able to catch up with them for the evening.

We then enjoyed a few days in showing our visitors Kamloops and enjoying a bit of R&R. We visited the Wildlife Park, rode the heritage train, replaced Frank's broken camera with a newer model and enjoyed Costco and other shopping.

We then headed to the Rockies. Our first night was in a teepee just outside of Golden, which is about 4 hours from Kamloops. On the way we stopped to enjoy the lake at Salmon Arm, discovered the site of The Last Spike (the last spike in the railway between the east and west coasts) and the Enchanted Forest, a lovely cool spot which has fairy tale and nursery rhyme characters hidden throughout a luscious forest.

We then arrived at our teepee in time for a bit of exploration and supper. It was a lovely spot, and the teepees so comfortable! However, the mosquitoes were the worst I have ever come across. Even with mosquito-magnet-Peter there, it was tough! We ended up cooking and eating indoors before adjourning after the sun had gone down (which is very late in summer!) to enjoy the campfire and marshmallows.
