Lead up to the end of the school year

The view at Dave and Carol's

On Monday Hel and I hit the shops before we all headed out to Frank's colleague Dave and Carol's place which is along the river north of Kamloops. They have an amazing hobby farm there with sheep, chickens, horses and other animals as well as vegetables. Their property fronts the river and we enjoyed a great meal outdoors. The mosquitos were the most agressive I have ever met and they were at their peak, so we were eventually driven inside, but they live in a really beautiful spot.

On Tuesday Hel, Pete, Pascale and Lucie left Kamloops and headed for a few days in Vancouver to finish off their Canadian adventure. We were so glad to see them here and glad that they enjoyed Canada so much!

Liam had just two days left at school. On Tuesday his class thanked Mrs Machuk for her excellent work with them over the year. It was an emotional moment.

On Wednesday the school year finished for Liam with a final assembly .......during which his long-lasting wobbly tooth was finally detached!! Hooray! RLC provides a very cute tooth-shaped container for such occasions.
The tooth is finally gone!

He also received his end of year report which was excellent. We are proud of the progress he has made since we arrived and very thankful for Mrs Machuk and her support!

Frank tees off!
Breakfast!
Frank, too, was gearing up for the end of the school year with a blokes' golf day and BBQ on Wednesday afternoon followed by a staff breakfast on Thursday...cooked by the male staff! We picked him up on Thursday afternoon.

He made it!

It has been a big semester and he made it! Great job, Frank!! Now for the nine-and-a half week Summer break!
